this feature is available in unaric segment advanced waterfall selections are series of selections that run one after the other optionally, a target data extension from a selection can directly be used as an input to the next selection hence, it can also be used to split up large selections into smaller ones and run them in a sequence that reduces the risk of time outs how it works the waterfall selection itself does not have a single, unified target data extension at the parent level instead, each individual selection in the sequence retains and writes to its own designated target data extension hence, there is no output mapping screen in the waterfall builder itself each selected selection is represented as a step there is no limitation on the number of steps that a user can create and run steps run sequentially, therefore, they will run only if the previous step is completed successfully once a waterfall selection has been run, you will be provided with each step's total number of results chained down to the rest of the total number of results of the next steps after data chaining because each selection retains its own target, you can use the output of one step directly as the input (source) of the next step this creates a powerful data pipeline for example, in a multi step campaign step 1 selection joins your customers and orders, calculates aggregate folder if the regular selection that is being used in the archived waterfall selection is archived, then upon restoring the archived waterfall selection the normal selection will be restored as well
