Journey Builder Integration
Data Extensions as Entry Sources
Target Data Extensions can be used directly as entry source in the Journey Builder. To this end, the Target Data Extension must be configured as sendable and contain the fields required by the journey Builder.
1. Create your Target Audience
- Create a new Selection:
- Give it a clear name that describes the purpose of the audience (e.g., Spring_Campaign_Audience).
- Apply your filters and segmentation logic to define the target group.
- Select your output Data Extension or Target Data Extension:
- Choose an existing DE or create a new one.
- Ensure the DE is sendable.
- Map with required fields (e.g., SubscriberKey, EmailAddress). Note that DESelect Administrators can set default Send Relationship from the Admin Panel ensuring that this field will be automatically populated in future.
- Save and Run the Selection. Once run, your Data Extension will be populated with the targeted records.
2. Use the Data Extension as Entry Source in Journey Builder
- Go to Journey Builder and click Create New Journey.
- Choose Multi-Step Journey (or Single Send depending on your use case).
- For the Entry Source, select Data Extension.
- Click Choose Data Extension and select the one you created earlier.
