Dynamic Custom Value
Dynamic Custom Value (also known as the CASE WHEN statement in SQL) allows you to create a new field and populate different values depending on a set of conditions.

Create a Dynamic Custom Value
- Under Custom Values, click the Add new value button.
- Provide a name for the Custom Value, choose Dynamic as Type, and click Next.
- Select the type of value that you want to populate.
- Click Add Criteria and create the condition that should meet the value you are going to populate.
- Under THEN, type in the value that you want to populate in case it fulfills the condition set above.
- In case you need to add more criteria, click Add Criteria and repeat steps 4 and 5. Optionally, add a default value in case none of the criteria above were met. You can add it under the Default text box.
- Click Save and move the new Custom Value to the Target Data Extension.
Use an existing value
If you need to show an existing value from a field as your value:
- click on the Pick available fields icon.
- Choose the Data Extension and the field that you want to retrieve the value from.
- If you need to populate a NULL value, you can check the NULL checkbox below the free text field.
