Copy Custom Values

You can copy Standard or Shared Custom Values within a Selection, eliminating the need to create a new Custom Value from scratch each time you want to edit one.

We recommend to always copy Shared Custom Values instead of using it directly in your Target Data Extension. Otherwise, any changes made to the original Shared Custom Value in the Admin Panel would affect all Selections where this Shared Custom Value is being used.

Copy Shared Custom Values

In the Output step, select the Shared tab under Custom Values.

Select the Shared Custom Value you want to copy

Click View ( icon) to see the Shared Custom Value structure on lock mode.

Click the Copy icon

5. The Copy Custom Value pop-up page will appear. Rename the new Custom Value and click Ok.

We recommend renaming a Custom Value after copying it from a Shared one to differentiate it from its original version.

The copied version of the Custom Value will now appear in the Standard column. Click the Pencil icon to modify the structure of your Custom Value.

Once your Custom Value is ready to use, move it into the Target Data Extension.

Copy Standard Custom Values

Copy Standard Custom Value to duplicate and edit them.

Under Custom Values, select the Standard tab.

Select a Standard Custom Value and click the Copy icon.

The Copy Custom Value pop-up page will appear. Rename the new Custom Value and click Ok.

It is mandatory to rename a Standard Custom Value after copying it to differentiate it from its original version. Otherwise, you will not be able to save it and will receive the following error:

The Custom Value will now be duplicated and appear under the original Custom Value. You can edit it by clicking the Pencil icon.

Once your Custom Value is ready to use, move it into the Target Data Extension.
