Contains & Does not Contain
These filter types are available for Text, EmailAddress, Phone, and Locale field types.
Contain filter type
The Contain filter includes the given substring (a piece of text), anywhere within the value (i.e. Does this field include this word or part of a word?). This is especially helpful when:
- You’re identifying users from a specific domain.
- Filtering campaign names that include a keyword (e.g., “Q2_Promo”).
- Looking for specific product tags.
Example
You want to find all users whose email address contains “gmail”.
- Field: Email Address
- Filter: Contains “gmail”
- Matches:
Does not contains filter type
The Does not contains filter excludes any record where the field includes the given substring (i.e. Only show me data that doesn’t include this text). This is especially helpful when:
- Removing test data.
- Excluding internal campaigns or naming conventions.
- Filtering out unwanted values or categories.

Example:
You want to exclude all users with "test" in their email.
