FAQ
general what is unaric reports? is it an app on the appexchange? unaric reports is a standalone web application that accesses your salesforce instance to produce much nicer looking reports and dashboards and offer advanced scheduling options it can be found on the appexchange, but you don't need to install anything instead, you can log in with your existing salesforce username and password how does unaric reports work? unaric reports uses the salesforce apis to retrieve run your salesforce reports and dashboards the unaric reports server runs from the following fixed ip address 184 72 230 226 we recommend adding this ip address to the valid ip ranges on salesforce profiles that will be using unaric reports as an extra layer of security do i install unaric reports in my salesforce instance? no, there is no installation required simply login with your existing salesforce username and password, grant unaric reports access, and start using it can i set up a web tab within salesforce for unaric reports? yes for instructions on how to set up a web tab, see docid\ rclsljwihaily4wy7o9bq do i have to recreate all my reports and dashboards in unaric reports? no, we use your existing salesforce reports and dashboards however, you can build custom reports within unaric reports that work around several of the limitations of the salesforce apis such as the 2,000 row limit how much does unaric reports cost? unaric reports is free to try for 7 days after trial period, you can continue to use all features for free except for the scheduling and downloading components if you need to set up solutions, you can sign up for a paid plan which start at $50 per month this price is for your entire organization—we don't charge per user is there a discount for non profits? sorry, w e currently have just one set of prices—mainly because we don't have much wiggle room in our pricing as we still offer the free version and the paid subscriptions start at just $50 per month for your entire salesforce organization are there any limitations to unaric reports? yes unaric reports is limited by the features supported by salesforce apis still, several of these limitations also exist in the native salesforce, e g , the 2,000 row limit, which can be overcome in unaric reports through its custom reports the key limitations are 2,000 row limit 255 character limit for long text area fields conditional formatting custom formula field you can use custom reports to work around this limitation how often do you release new features? we try to release two major version each year and then several smaller releases throughout the year we love unaric reports how can we give back or help? there are couple of ways tell people about it your co workers, colleagues, local salesforce communities, etc use the feedback form at the bottom of this page to submit ideas, issues, etc use it and push it to the limit we want to know if there are additional limitations so we can fix those or build cool features to work around those reports some of our reports are cutoff at 2,000 rows how can we retrieve all of the rows in a report? we use the salesforce reporting api and unfortunately, it will only return the first 2,000 rows the good news is, we offer custom reports which can overcome this limitation to create a custom report, go to the reports tab, click the add button and then select 'add custom report' (or just click here) are joined reports supported? yes why are long text fields cut off after 255 characters? we use the salesforce reporting api and unfortunately it will only return the first 255 characters of of long text area fields the good news is we offer custom reports which can overcome this limitation to create a custom report, go to the reports tab, click the add button and then select 'add custom report' (or just click here) every once in awhile i get the following message "your query request was running for too long " is there anything i can do to help prevent this? that error message is directly from salesforce so unfortunately there isn't much we can do on our end however, you may be able to work around this issue using one of the following for salesforce reports, try adding additional filters to help limit the number of rows returned for custom reports, try to simplify the soql query work with salesforce to help index or speed up specific objects / queries that have lots of data (more info here) dashboards when i first bring up a dashboard it doesn't look exactly how it does in salesforce to render salesforce dashboards, we use the salesforce apis these apis unfortunately don't return all the configuration information needed to enable us to format the dashboards exactly as they are in salesforce the good news is you can simply customize the overall dashboard or individual components of the dashboard within unaric reports we support many of the missing configuration elements as well as many others that salesforce does not natively support, such as custom colors solutions if i have schedules already set up in salesforce, do i have to set those up again in unaric reports? yes, you have to set up your schedules again in unaric reports however, you can easily import those schedules by going to the solutions tab and clicking the import button (or just click here) this page lists all of your existing salesforce schedules and allows you easily import them into unaric reports how many solutions can i create? as many as you want you simply sign up for the subscription you want which determines the total number of solution items allowed we also offer an unlimited subscription, so again you can have as many solution items as you want this is a big improvement over salesforce where you are limited to a maximum of 200 schedules also note that with unaric reports one solution can be set to run for several users this often means that most of the time you won't have to create nearly as many schedules as you would with salesforce if we want to set up solutions with multiple running users, do we need to do any additional setup? yes, if you select a different running user than yourself, then that user has to login to unaric reports they must do this to allow unaric reports to connect on their behalf note though they only have to login one time after that, you can set up solutions on their behalf also they only need to do this if you want them set up as running users on the solution which means you want the report to run as them if you just need to send them the report, you can set them up as recipients and they don't need to authorize unaric reports how do i stop a solution? to stop a solution, go to the solutions tab, and do one of the following click deactivate click the delete button email what can i do to help make sure emails from unaric reports get delivered to my users? email delivery is a large topic that we won't try to fully cover, but here are several key items that we have seen help monitor emails sent by unaric reports by going to the activity tab and setting the filter to 'failed' and 'reports send email' (or just click here) you can even save this filter as a report that you can send to yourself using a solution if you see any issues, work to resolve those work with your it team to make sure emails from unaric reports are allowed we use sendgrid to send email and the dedicated ip address we send from is 192 254 125 211 update any in house email filtering software such as barracuda, mimecast, etc to allow unaric reports to send emails to your users have your users check their personal spam folders and filtering rules to make sure they don't have something set up that would prevent the emails from being delivered we use sendgrid to securely send all emails from unaric reports when sending emails through unaric reports, by default the email is signed as if it is from us cloud4 com this is different from the actual sending email address, which will be whatever your domain is sendgrid offers a service called email authentication this makes it so the email is signed as if it truly came from you this can really help delivery, but requires a little set up click email authentication on the navigation menu to set this up i received a message indicating that the email is too large what can i do to fix this? try using one of the following most of the time the easiest thing to do to fix this is to only include one output type in the email meaning only html, pdf, excel, or csv often times people will have the "include html" checked as well as an attachment effectively this doubles the size of the email if you can use just html (meaning the report is in the email) or just one of the attachments, then usually that is enough to get under the max email limit if you need both sent (html and excel for example), you could always set up two solutions, one for each output type note our email max is 30 mb if you think your email is less than that but you are still having issues, you may be hitting a max on your mail server (and it's probably smaller than 30 mb) in this case, you will need to try to bring down the size of the report or work with your it team to increase the max size allowed one of our email addresses seems to be on your bounced list what can we do to remove that? you can monitor all of your email by navigating to configure email suppressions on this page, you can see the email that is causing the issue, the type of issue (bounced, blocked, spam reported, or blocked), the error message, and the date the issued occurred most importantly, once you resolve the issue on your end, you can remove the failed email and start sending to that email subscription can i cancel or change my subscription? yes, you can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time to cancel your subscription, go to the subscription tab and select the free version to upgrade or downgrade, go to the subscription tab and select the subscription you would like to change to in each case, your charges will be pro rated based on your change do each of my users need to have a subscription? no, your subscription is tied to your entire salesforce org meaning all of your salesforce users share the same subscription note, though, if you have more than one salesforce org (such as one for different business units), you will need a subscription for each org do we have to sign up with credit card or can you invoice us? you can pay with credit card or via invoicing if you pay with credit card, you can choose to pay monthly or annually and if you pay annually, you will receive a 10% discount if you pay via invoicing, we only offer the annual plan and no discount security does my data ever leave my salesforce? yes, unaric reports is a standalone web application that runs outside of salesforce in amazon's cloud environment unaric reports uses the salesforce apis to retrieve your data and display it on the web page or include in an email note, however, we never store your data how do i know my data is secure? unaric reports runs in amazon's cloud environment and we have taken great measures to ensure that the web application and your data is highly secured can i use unaric reports against my sandbox instance first to check it out? yes, when you log in to unaric reports, you can either log in to a production org or a sandbox org what security measures are built into unaric reports? because we use the salesforce apis, many of the salesforce security features are already built in for example, when you log in you will only see the reports you have access to in salesforce and the reports will only include data that you are allowed to see (just as if you run it directly in salesforce) in addition, we drive off two key permissions in salesforce schedule reports view all data if you have the schedule reports permission, you can use the solution feature in unaric reports if you have the view all data permission, then you can view and manage solutions created by other users how do i revoke unaric reports's access to my salesforce instance? salesforce classic log in to salesforce, click setup, select my personal information, select personal information, and then scroll down to oauth apps now click the revoke link for unaric reports salesforce lightning log in to salesforce, select your user profile icon in the upper right hand corner, select settings, select advanced user details, and then scroll down to oauth apps now click the revoke link for unaric reports
