Quick Access Menu (QAM)
the quick access menu (qam) is a central hub that lets users and authors perform different actions, including creating help topics all menu items are driven by data stored in the configuration items packaged object as such, reach out to support so if you wish to simplify options for users based on what you are using interface left menu all help – by default this shows ‘all help’ based on where the user is in the application, or what they can see help domains may control content visibility data driven filtering may also limit what users can see, plus normal salesforce sharing rules on the help topics custom object may also restrict visibility of content tagged help – will show help topics that have been tagged by a help author popular topics – shows the most popular help topics for the area where you are in (object level help) popular in terms of other users engaging with that content quick links pre defined list (up to five) links to common places these are set in the ‘global help settings’ guides – this will show a list of available guides for the current page you are on reading lists this will show a list of available reading lists for the current page you are on my help bookmarks – an easy way to gain access to your bookmarked help topics my help comments – shows a list of any personal comments made on help topics my help notes – shows a list of your notes made on records, also provides a link to where you made the note as well right menu help home – this gives you access to the help portal where you can create/read help topics and reading lists comment – provides you the ability to leave comments on help topics which feeds back to the help authors hide list item details – allows users to remove some detail from the qam listings of content re home qam – the qam may be moved by users and this is remembered for future page loads, so this option allows the qam to be re set if need be help enable – provides you the ability to select which buttons/fields you would like to help enable reconfigure – provides you the ability to edit the help which you have already placed around various objects new help topic – easily create a new help topic from anywhere lightning out builder – provides you the ability to create lightning out components to be used anywhere global settings – this is a quick link back to your improved help settings add the qam to all pages go to setup and enter app builder in the quick find box select lightning app builder choose the app page or record page where you want to add the qam (e g , opportunity record page ) click edit on the desired page in the lightning components panel, search for " improved help quick access menu " drag and drop the component into a section of the page click save and activate to publish changes troubleshooting qam not appearing? ensure the component is added to the correct page variant (e g , "salesforce mobile" vs "desktop" ) check user permissions under "improved help settings" missing options? admins can customize qam actions via the "configuration items" object (contact support if needed)
