Lightning Utility Bar
you can use salesforce’s lightning utility bar to make help content available across any lightning app this is especially useful for surfacing key resources like a glossary, help topic index, or custom reading list where users can access help on demand—no matter where they are in the application how it works the utility bar is a persistent footer in lightning apps when configured, it can display an always available help panel surface context aware or global reading lists act as a shortcut to a help glossary or topic index example use cases add a help index panel for quick access to all topics across the org show a department specific reading list for onboarding or compliance provide a custom glossary of internal terms and acronyms add a help panel to the utility bar in salesforce setup, navigate to app manager select the app you want to update, then click edit in the app settings sidebar, click utility bar click add and choose a supported lightning component, such as improved help – reading list viewer improved help – topic search configure the component settings as needed (e g , default reading list or help domain) click save to finish
