You can apply Custom Settings to configure additional functionalities and features on ELTON and tailor it to your specific needs and workflows. For more information, check Salesforce Create Custom Settings documentation.
The following list outlines the various features and functionalities within ELTON that can be controlled or customized through custom settings.
- Loan management
- Adding additional date fields to loan1 records.
- Enabling changes to record ownership during loan and return processes.
- Recording billing or shipping addresses on accounts associated with loans.
- Equipment management
- Configuring the equipment calendar and its color scheme.
- Mobile app
- Controlling the display of tabs and additional fields within the mobile app.
- Hiding specific assignment or loan selection options (user, contact, account, or opportunity) on the mobile app.
- Integrations
- Enabling custom object integrations.
- Loan processing
- Allowing recording of return shipment information before the actual loan return.
- Configuring automatic equipment reassignment at loan start or return.
- Label printing
- Defining the content and field mapping for equipment labels.
- Automation
- Enabling automatic equipment assignment upon addition or cloning.
- Configuring field sets for copying data from requests to reservations.
- Specifying fields to be updated on the "Assign," "Reserve," and "Loan" Visualforce (VF) pages.
- Controlling triggers are used to maintain consistency between assignment and loan data on equipment records.
- Data validation
- Setting validation rules to prevent or allow past dates for loans and reservations.
- Consumables
- Enabling the use of consumable records.
- Configuring whether consumable quantities can go negative.
- Request management
- Controlling default margin settings (before and after) for request dates, globally or by user.
- Inventory management
- Allowing reservations of inactive equipment.
- Specifying equipment statuses that permit reservations.
The Data Interface object and its related object are used to acquire data from other sources and is how our Mobile App processes transactions in ELTON. These objects need permission for all users to all fields; however, it is recommended that the Data Interface tab remains hidden for all users.
