Create a Resend Campaign
a resend campaign allows you to send an updated version of a previously delivered email to subscribers who received the original email but did not open it this can help increase engagement by targeting subscribers who may respond to a different subject line or renewed call to action to identify these subscribers, you must filter your original target audience using send and engagement data stored in salesforce marketing cloud (sfmc) data views, such as job , open , and sent deselect supports data views natively, allowing you to extract these subscribers and store them in a new data extension for your resend campaign how it works when you send an email using email studio , sfmc logs sending and engagement information under a unique job id the job data view stores high level information about each send the open data view stores records of subscribers who opened an email the sent data view stores records of subscribers who successfully received an email to create a resend audience, you will start from the same data extension used in your original campaign exclude subscribers whose subscriberkey appears in open records for the job id include only subscribers whose subscriberkey appears in sent records for the same job id store the resulting audience in a new sendable data extension create a resend campaign 1\ create a new selection in deselect, click new selection enter resend campaign as the selection name drag your original data extension into the selected data sources section 2\ filter out subscribers who opened the original email to ensure that only subscribers who did not open the specific send are included, you need to exclude opens and filter open records by job id drag the email field from available fields into the filters section select is not in results match this filter with the subscriberkey field from the open data view click the filter (funnel) icon to add additional filtering drag jobid to the filters section select equals and enter the job id of the original send (example 445498 ) 3\ confirm they received the original email to this end, you need to set up your input tab to contain only subscribers who received the email but did not open it drag the email field from available fields into the filters section select is in results match this filter with the subscriberkey field from the sent data view click the filter (funnel) icon drag jobid into the filters section select equals and enter the same job id (example 445498 ) 4\ create the resend audience data extension go to the output tab click create data extension enter the name resend campaign audience select is sendable click save click add all fields to include the fields from your input set the send relationship click save data extension click create 5\ run the selection click run to generate the data extension the results will include only subscribers who received the original email, and did not open it this audience is now ready to use in a resend campaign with a new subject line
