3. Master Contact Saturation
as a final step, you'll create a data extension that determines whether each customer is saturated or not, indicating whether you can send them more emails 1\ create the master contact saturation selection create a new selection and call it master contact saturation in the selection criteria step, add the master data extension of your contacts drag the contact interaction report with the following match configuration drag the contact available slots on top of the master of contacts, with the following match configuration 2\ configure the target data extension navigate to the target definition step click on create data extension configure the new data extension as in the image below (you can choose the location of your preference) click save and add the id of the customer de into the target data extension 3\ create the saturated dynamic value scroll down to the custom values section and click add new value call it saturated , choose dynamic value and click next choose field type boolean and click add criteria in the filter screen, search the emails sent field and drag it click the blue grid icon you’ll be able to compare this field with another one change the filter type to smaller than, the field to contact available slots and its value to slots click save in the current sprint, make sure the value under the condition you have created is false and change the default value to true this means that if emails sent is smaller than the number of slots , the user is not saturated (we can keep sending emails); otherwise, it is saturated (we need to stop sending emails for a while) save the custom value and add it to the target data extension click save data extension and run the selection use with your new saturation control process now that all required data extensions are ready, you must ensure they stay up to date daily because the execution order matters, create a waterfall selection that runs the steps in this sequence contact interaction report contact available slots standard email frequency low email frequency high email frequency master saturation control scheduling schedule the waterfall selection to run daily at night to avoid interfering with working hours if you don’t have waterfall selections, you can schedule each selection independently leaving 30 minutes between each other, but make sure that all of them run successfully, as they are not going to wait for the result of the previous one to use these selections in your day to day segmentation, simply drag the master contact saturation to the selected data extensions and add a filter getting only saturated = false
