Salesforce has recently introduced additional security measures, enforcing a change in settings by Salesforce administrators for all connected apps (including Salesforce’s own applications).

Consequently, if you see an OAuth2 authentication error, with the message* "OAUTH\_APPROVAL\_ERROR\_GENERIC"*, then you will need to install our application in your Salesforce environment to grant login access. The full announcement and guidance provided by Salesforce is available here: [Prepare for Connected App Usage Restrictions Change](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=005132365\&type=1).

### Install Trusted Connected Apps

To fix this issue, you will need to configure the connector product in your Salesforce org:

1. In Setup, search and select **Connected Apps OAuth Usage**.
2. Locate the application labelled **Salesforce Connector (Unaric)**, click **Install**. Salesforce displays an installation page.
3. Click **Install** again.

This only needs to be completed the first time the application is used; it is a one-time approval.

The installation requires Salesforce administrator access, so you may need to contact your Salesforce administrator to enable this for you.
