## *Is smaller than* filter type

The *Is smaller than *filter (also called "Less Than" in some tools) returns records where the field’s value is strictly less than the specified value (i.e. *Is this value less than X?*).

### Example

You want to find customers who's amount spent is smaller than 500.

- **Field:** **Amount**
- **Filter:** *Smaller than 500*

**Matches:**

- **Amount **= *200 *✅
- **Amount**= *400* ✅
- **Amount **= *500* ❌ (because it’s *not less than*, it’s *equal*)

## *Is smaller than or equal to* filter type

The *Is smaller than or equal to* filter includes records that are less than or exactly equal to the specified value (i.e. *Is this value less than or equal to X?*).

### Example

You want to find customers who's amount spent is smaller than or equal to 500.

- **Field:** **Amount**
- **Filter:** *Smaller than or equal to 500*

**Matches:**

- **Amount** =* 200* ✅
- **Amount**= *400 *✅
- **Amount** =* 500* ✅ (because it’s equal to 500)
