## Configure profiles

Salesforce profiles are the main way to manage access to Unaric Reports. You can enable and disable users with specific Salesforce profiles from logging in to Unaric Reports.

:::hint{type="warning"}
Even if their profile is disabled, all users can still use the Direct Links to Solutions.
:::

### Enable profile-based access control

1. Navigate to **Configure > Settings**.
2. Check **Configure Profiles**.
3. Select the profiles to provide access under **Enabled Profiles. **Use the **Ctrl** key to select multiple profiles. If no profile is selected, all profiles will be enabled.
 - You can also select which profiles to disable access under **Disabled Profiles**. If you don't select any profiles, no profiles will be disabled.
4. Click **Save **to finish.

### Profile access restrictions not being applied

If profile-based login restrictions in Unaric Reports aren’t working as expected, it may be a user’s profile in Salesforce can’t be determined.

Querying the **Profile** object requires the **View Setup and Configuration **permission. If the profiles you want to restrict don’t have this permission, Unaric Reports is unable to determine the profile a user has and therefore can't determine whether to allow those users to log in.

To allow profile-based access control without granting additional permissions:

1. In Salesforce, create a Formula field on the **User** object that returns the **Profile ID**. Make this field visible to all profiles you need to disable.
2. In Unaric Reports, navigate to **Configure > Settings**.
3. Check **Configure Profiles**.
4. In the **Profile ID Field Name** text field, enter the API name of the formula field you created.

## Hide Subscription tab from non admins

By default, all users have the ability to access the subscription page. To set up that only administrators can view and update the Unaric Reports subscription:

1. Navigate to **Configure > Settings**.
2. Check **Hide Subscription Tab from Non Admins**.
3. Click **Save **to finish.

## Enable all users to create Solutions

Unaric Reports follows Salesforce permissions in regard to users being able to create Solutions (in Salesforce terms, **Schedule Reports**). However, you can override that permission and allow all users to create Solutions:

1. Navigate to **Configure > Settings**.
2. Check **Enable All Users to Create Solutions**.
3. Click **Save **to finish.

## Enable admins to update storage folders

Admins are not allowed to change the folder for a storage provider such as Google Drive that is set on a Solution unless they are the Solution owner. If you want admins to be able to edit these folders even if they are not the owner of the Solution.

1. Navigate to **Configure > Settings**.
2. Check **Enable Admins to Update Storage Folders**.
3. Click **Save **to finish.

## Disable Solutions for users without SOQL access to User.Profile

Unaric Reports looks at the permission **Schedule Reports** on the user's Salesforce profile to determine whether they are allowed to create Solutions in Unaric Reports. However, there are times when the user doesn't have enough access to query the Salesforce Profile object to determine if they have the **Schedule Reports** permission. In that case, Unaric Reports defaults permissions to allow them to create Solutions. To prevent these users from creating Solutions:

1. Navigate to **Configure > Settings**.
2. Check **Disable Solutions for users without SOQL access to User.Profile**.
3. Click **Save **to finish.

## Enable PDF download only

You can disable the ability to export reports as Excel, Excel Formatted, and CSV and only allows users to download or email reports as PDF files.

:::hint{type="warning"}
This restriction only applies to non-admin users.
:::

1. Navigate to **Configure > Settings**.
2. Check **Enable PDF Download Only**.
3. Click **Save **to finish.
