Use the **Reports **tab to create, run, download, and schedule your reports. Unaric Reports supports your standard Salesforce reports—including joined reports—as well as custom reports created in Unaric Reports, which allow you to bypass Salesforce limitations.

### Key features

- **External Data Sources:** You can report on data outside of Salesforce, including **Google Analytics, Stripe, and ServiceNow**.
- **Bypassing Row Limits:** Custom reports allow you to overcome the standard **2,000-row limit** found in Salesforce.
- **Parent-Child Relationships:** You can bring in data from both parent and child objects (e.g., Accounts and their associated Contacts) into a **single report view**.
- **AI-Powered Analysis:** You can use **AI agents** to analyse reports in real-time to spot trends, summarize data, and provide recommendations.
- **Advanced Logic:** Reports support **custom formulas** (using Apache Velocity syntax) and the ability to search **deleted records**.
- **AI Insights:** You can use **AI agents** to analyze report data in real-time to spot trends, summarize differences between reports, or provide recommendations.
- **Visual Styling:** Reports can be toggled between **Lightning and Classic styles**. You can customize colours, add company logos, and set page orientations for PDF outputs.
- **Record Handlers:** Instead of standard table rows, you can use **record handlers** to display data as distinct **pages, blocks, or cells**.

## How it works

Reports function through a combination of data extraction, customisation, and automated delivery.

:::WorkflowBlockItem
**Data extraction**

You can extract data from **Salesforce** or external sources like **Google Analytics, Stripe, and ServiceNow**. Reports start by selecting a primary object (table), then adding specific fields. You can also add **child reports** (e.g., adding Contacts to an Account report) to create a unified view of related records.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
**Customisation**

You can apply logic at runtime to return specific data (e.g., only "Active" accounts) and search **deleted records**. Moreover, **Apache Velocity syntax** allows you to perform complex operations, such as changing how a value is displayed based on specific criteria.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
**Automated delivery**

Reports are packaged into **solutions** to be delivered via **email**, saved to **cloud storage**, or sent for **e-signature. **You can set reports to run on specific weekdays, monthly, or at **custom intervals** (e.g., every two weeks).

Besides, reports can be triggered instantly using [Salesforce Buttons](docId\:xGLZS371XQ4PApbpU1Dbx), which pass specific record IDs to the report builder to generate a filtered document in real-time.

### Formatting and output

- **Flexible Layouts:** Using **record handlers**, you can display each report record as a **document page, block, or cell** instead of a standard table row.
- **Visualizations:** You can add various **charts** (such as horizontal bar or gauge charts) and customize colors, logos, and themes. Besides, you can set up [Dashboards](docId:3WpxSur2dHWXjASD22smr) to combine multiple reports' data into a single visual view.
- **Templates:** You can use **Excel templates** (Type 1 or Type 2) to gain precise control over formatting, such as setting exact column widths and cell alignments.

### Distribution

Reports are typically packaged into **solutions** to be delivered on a schedule via **email**, saved to **cloud storage** (like Dropbox or Google Cloud), or triggered instantly through **Salesforce buttons**.

## Add report

You have two options for adding reports:

## AI Tool

Unaric Reports offers an LLM you can prompt to go over your reports and provide insights.

 1. Optionally, you can adjust the response lenght by setting a maximum number of characters.
 2. Check **Use Assistant** to perform a more detailed analysis with more data. The AI might take longer to respond with this option activated.

## Use ICU formats for Custom Reports

In Salesforce, ICU formats refer to International Components for Unicode (ICU) formatting patterns used for dates, times, numbers, and currencies. Salesforce adopted ICU formats as part of its move away from the older Java SimpleDateFormat patterns, ensuring better localization and consistency across different languages and regions.

The ICU formats are automatically applied when you run Salesforce reports within Unaric Reports, but any Custom Report created in Unaric Reports doesn't use the ICU formats by default. You can use this setting to have the Custom Reports use the ICU format as well.

1. Navigate to **Configure > Settings**.
2. Check **Use ICU formats for Custom Reports**.
3. Click **Save **to finish.
