Custom Fields

Add custom fields to further customize the employee information shown on org charts.

There are three types of custom field types:

  • Text: Capture flexible information like certifications, languages, and work preferences.
  • Dropdown: Create organized lists to categorize employees, for instance, by seniority (Associate, Mid-Level, Senior, Principal), employment status (Full-time, Part-time, Contract), or project involvement (Project A, Project B, Project C).
  • Date picker: Track time-based data, including employment start dates, employee birthdays, and project deadlines.

This feature is flexible to fit multiple use cases, including:

Custom fields can't be exported and are not synced with Google Workspace. Likewise, they are not part of the duplicated Org Chart.

Create custom field

  1. Go to Settings > Custom fields.
  2. Click the + New custom field button.
  3. Select the custom field type and provide the required information.
    • Text
      1. Provide a field name.
    • Dropdown
      1. In Dropdown options, enter the option name. To add more options, click the Add option button and repeat the above steps for each additional option. Use Change color to customize the option’s color and on the emoji to pick up an emoji.
      2. In Field settings, provide a field name (e.g., Seniority, Employee status, or Project assignments). Optionally, if you want the dropdown options to be visible on employee cards in the org chart, check Display icons on Org Chart cards.
    • Date picker
      1. Provide a field name.
    • Click the Create new field button to finish.
