Display full-size images and thumbnails for each piece of equipment. These images can be linked from any publicly available URL, not just those stored within Salesforce.

## Prerequisites

Before adding images, you need to add different fields to the **Equipment** page layout or list views. The new fields are:

- **Image URL** (**Equipment** and **Equipment Type**): This is the text field that you enter the URL for locating the image file.
- **Equipment Image** (**Equipment**): ­This is the large image view field.
- **Thumbnail Image** (**Equipment**): ­ This is the small image view field (excellent for List Views)

To add the fields:

1. Go to **Setup.**
2. On the **Object Manager** tab, search for the *Equipment* object.
3. Go to the **Page Layouts** tab.
4. Search for the *Image URL* field and drag it to the Equipment details. You can also include the *Thumbnail Image* field. *Note: Typically, you'll only use one of the image fields (Equipment Image or Thumbnail Image) on a single page layout or list view.*
5. Click the **Save** button to finish.

## Adding Images

1. Open the desired equipment page.
2. Paste the copied image URL address into the **Image URL** field. You can use any publicly available image. 
3. Save the record to finish.

If after adding an image you see an image holder and a *No image available *message*,* the image URL is either incorrect or not publicly available.

### Image Inheritance

If the **Image URL** field is blank on an equipment record, Unaric Equipment Track will display the image from the linked **Equipment Type** (if the equipment type's **Image URL** field has a value). If both fields are blank, no image will be displayed. You can override the inherited image by adding a URL directly into the equipment record's **Image URL** field.

## Equipment Type images

You can save the image URL on an equipment type and all its **Equipment** records will use that image. This is handy if you have multiple pieces of equipment that look alike. You would only need to add the image on their equipment type and all the equipment would display the same image. To this end, use the **Equipment Type** field as an item master and then put each serial number in as an **Equipment** record linked to the **Equipment Type**.

You can still override the image URL for an **Equipment** record by just adding a value to its **Image URL** field. If the **Image URL** field is blank on the **Equipment** record, Unaric Equipment Track will display the image from the **Equipment Type **record. 

## Custom image size

Image defaults are 150 X 150 pixels for the equipment image and 50 X 50 pixels for the thumbnail. Still, you can modify the size of the image and thumbnail:

1. **Go to Setup > Custom Code > Custom Settings**.
2. Find the **ELTON Logic Control Settings** label and click the **Manage** link.
3. Click the **Edit** button.
4. Use the *Equipment Image Height* and *Equipment Image Width* fields to determine the size of the Equipment image and the *Thumbnail Image Height* and *Thumbnail Image Width* for thumbnails. We recommend using a square size, which is the most suitable for the Salesforce interface.
5. Click the **Save** button to finish.
