QR Codes and Barcodes
ELTON offers two convenient methods for identifying and managing your equipment: QR codes and barcodes. Here's a breakdown of how they work together.
Every equipment record in ELTON automatically receives a unique QR code. The built-in label printing feature allows you to print these QR codes along with relevant equipment information (e.g., model name, serial number) on adhesive labels. You can then attach these labels to your equipment for easy scanning and identification.
If your equipment already comes with unique barcodes, you can load them to ELTON for identification. During data import, you can populate the "Equipment Tag" field with the barcode information.
Note: While not mandatory, the "Equipment Tag" field enforces uniqueness, ensuring no duplicate barcodes exist within the system.
You can use the ELTON Scanner App to scan QR codes or barcodes printed on your equipment labels:
- QR Codes: Scan ELTON-generated QR codes to instantly access and manage the corresponding equipment record.
- Barcodes: Scan existing barcodes on your equipment (if available) to quickly link them to the correct record in ELTON.
