Equipment Types
Equipment types are used to group equipment for reporting and creation of requests. You can think of this as a model number master file. For instance, suppose your company specializes in selling laptops, and one of your best-selling models is the StellarBook Pro. In the equipment types database, you would have a single entry for the StellarBook Pro. If your inventory contains 50 StellarBook Pro units, each would have its own record with a unique serial number. However, all 50 units would be linked to the same equipment type entry for the StellarBook Pro.
- Go to the Equipment Types tab and click on + New Equipment Type.
- A New Equipment Type window will pop up asking you to provide details for the equipment type.

Equipment Type Name (Required) | Name of the equipment type. |
Owner | Equipment type owner. |
Description | Description of the equipment type. |
Post Loan Pad | The number of days past the estimated return date before the equipment is available for another Loan or Reservation. |
Active | Check this box to activate the equipment type. |
Post Loan Pad Label | A label for the equipment after the loan has ended and before it is available for loan again. Available labels are None, Unavailable, or NA. |
Image URL | This field stores a URL where an image of this Equipment Type is stored. |
3. To finish, click on the Save button.
