The ELTON Scanner app is a mobile application that simplifies equipment management tasks for remote users authorized to manage equipment movement. The ELTON Scanner app is ideal for remote users responsible for managing their own equipment inventory, such as field representatives with trunk stock of equipment and team leads or supervisors overseeing equipment usage within their teams. As such, use cases of the Scanner app include:

  • Scan equipment in trunk stock.
  • Assign specific equipment to team members for on-site repairs.
  • Record the return of equipment after completing the repairs.
  • Track the location of assigned equipment through the recorded GPS coordinates.

The app requires login using your Salesforce credentials to access and update your ELTON data securely. All actions performed through the app are automatically recorded and reflected directly in the corresponding ELTON records. An active internet connection is necessary for the app to function properly.

App functionalities

Scan and Manage Equipment

Use the app's camera to scan QR codes or barcodes associated with equipment items. Based on the scanned code, the app allows you to:

  • Assign, loan, and return equipment.
  • Count and record the physical quantity of equipment on hand.
  • View detailed information about scanned equipment.

Automatic GPS Recording

While assigning, loaning, returning, or counting equipment, the app optionally records GPS coordinates (if available). These coordinates are then displayed on a map within the corresponding ELTON records for visualization purposes.
