How to use DESelect Segment Data Extensions as Entry Sources in Journey Builder?

marketing automation in salesforce marketing cloud (sfmc) becomes more powerful when your segmentation and customer journeys work hand in hand with deselect segment, users can build advanced audience segments without sql once segments are created, these are stored in target data extensions (des), which can then be directly used to initiate journeys in journey builder here’s a step by step guide on how to use those des as entry sources for your journeys step 1 create and finalize your segment in deselect segment build your segment define your data sources apply filters and logic to create your desired audience under target definition, create a new de or an existing de make your new de sendable choose the appropriate fields for your target de make sure to include the subscriber relation to be used, or/and other necessary fields expected by the journey select the subscriber relationship accordingly note that this can be pre defined in the admin panel, see this article for more details run the selection to populate your target de with your segmented audience step 2 use the de as an entry source in journey builder go to journey builder and click create new journey choose multi step journey (or single send depending on your use case) for the entry source, select de click choose de and select the de generated by deselect
